WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A second suspect, Pedro Lopez III, was arrested in Maryland earlier this month in connection to a shooting that took place Sept. 13 in the Hillcrest community, according to the Wilmington Police Department.
Lopez is facing charges of attempted first degree murder, attempted robbery, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Police say Lopez was identified as a suspect and interviewed soon after the shooting. A warrant was issued for his arrest, but he had left the area.
He was transported back to New Hanover County and is in custody at the New Hanover County detention facility. His bond is set at $1 million.
Another suspect, Lamar Maurice Walker, was charged shortly after the shooting. He remains in custody under a $250,000 secured bond, and has been charged with several counts of aiding and abetting.
