
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Commissioners in New Hanover County will meet Friday afternoon for a special meeting.
The purpose of the meeting is to review and consider the recommendation of the Republican Party to fill the vacant seat on the Board of County Commissioners. The executive committee of the Republican Party has nominated Melissa Gott to replace Ted Davis.
The meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m. inside the New Hanover County Government Center.
The vacant spot was created when former commissioner Davis joined the NC General Assembly last month. Davis was first elected to the board in 1996.
