BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Two lawsuits filed against Brunswick County Sheriff John Ingram and the detention center have been dismissed by a judge, according to the sheriff's office.

Sheriff Ingram and the Brunswick County Detention Center were sued by two former inmates.

Tyrone Hamilton and Derrick Jones claimed they were exposed to tuberculosis during their time at the detention center.

According to court documents, a judge dismissed the lawsuits with prejudice. Hamilton and Jones cannot sue again because of the judge's decision.

Hamilton and Jones stated that Ingram and the staff at the jail were negligent during their alleged exposure to tuberculosis. According to the sheriff's office, the two men never tested positive for TB, but they had claimed they had ongoing health problems due to it.
