WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Wilmington Plastic Surgery's Run for the Ta-Ta's presented by Try Sports is not the typical race. It's a "Chaser Race" and is one of a kind in the region, and it's all for a good cause.

In this unique race format, female participants start first, giving them a head start over the men. Male participants start exactly two minutes and 30 seconds after the females (hint on the name: Run For the Ta-Tas.) The first participant to cross the finish line, male or female, wins $1,000 cash. Proceeds benefit The Pink Ribbon Project.

"There's probably not very many people that have not been affected in some way by breast cancer-- whether its family member, friend, or somebody who knows somebody who has been affected, so the race can be pretty emotional for a lot of people and it's all just such a positive experience," said Try Sports store manager Adam Rose.
