
WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Former UNCW women's basketball player Lori Drake never backed down during her playing days for the Seahawks. That isn't changing now that Drake has moved to the coaching ranks.
Drake, who takes over the first-year Women's basketball program at Cape Fear Community College is excited about the job ahead of her. "For some people it is scary starting a new program, building a college team from scratch, but I take it was a challenge."
Drake, who's only other coaching experience, was at the University of Chichester in the United Kingdom takes a hands on approach, jumping into drills with her team. "We go hard, I get out there with them, and I want to be successful with them, and they know that."
The Sea Devils first-ever game is November 3rd at Greensboro College.
