NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Friday, officials from
Charlotte will be touring the EUE/Screen Gems Studios in New Hanover County.
Charlotte is debating turning an old mall into the site for
a film studio. They are hoping to learn about the economic benefits of the film
industry. They will also be meeting with Wilmington officials, including Mayor
Bill Saffo.
In the past, Wilmington leaders have said they support the
idea, noting it would attract major motion pictures to North Carolina,
helping out the state as a whole.
