Courtney Melvin joins Fayetteville State squad

One of the best to play at the high school level in our area is now a member of the Fayetteville State Broncos.

Courtney Melvin will wear the familiar blue and white number 55 for the Broncos.

Those are the same colors and number she wore at East Bladen where she left as the program's all-time leading scorer.

The former ncpreps.com 2A player of the year left East Carolina prior to playing for the Pirates after filing a false police report telling officers she was assaulted on her way to a morning workout on campus.

She is listed as a freshman on the roster at Fayetteville State.
