WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Wilmington City Council approved two road projects at Tuesday night's meeting.
The first is a $5.6 million contract to widen Randall Parkway from Independence Boulevard to South College Road. The goal is to ease traffic concerns between Kerr Avenue and South College Road. This project will also expand the Cross City Trail from Brailsford Drive to Marlboro Street. The project is supposed to get underway later this year.
Council also agreed to spend nearly a million more dollars for the North 3rd Street improvement plan. The money will go toward paving that is supposed to last at least ten years.
