WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A student at Hoggard High School gave birth to a baby Tuesday in the bathroom of the school nurse's office.
Valita Quattlebaum, spokesperson for New Hanover County Schools says the baby was born around 3:30 in the afternoon---around the time school was letting out for the day.
"The school nurse assisted and acted heroically helping the student and the baby into the ambulance to go to the hospital," Quattlebaum said.
Quattlebaum did not know whether the baby was a boy or a girl. She also did not give any information on the student.
