Grizz, who plays "Grizz" in the NBC comedy 30 Rock, is known for his role as actor Tracy Morgan's sidekick. The 6-foot-11, 378-pound actor knows kidney disease well. After suffering from hypertension for 13 years, Grizz experienced end stage renal failure in 2008. Undergoing dialysis three times a week, Grizz – who once weighed 505 lbs. – shed the necessary 160 lbs. to be eligible for a kidney transplant in 2010.
Esposito is a returning celebrity of the Willie Stargell Celebrity Golf Tournament. He attended the event in 2009. Esposito plays Capt. Tom Neville in the NBC series Revolution which airs Monday nights at 10.
Willie Stargell died of kidney disease in 2001. The former Pittsburgh Pirate and member of Major League Baseball's Hall of Fame lived in Wilmington at the time of this death.
This year's Willie Stargell Celebrity Golf Tournament will be held November 9-11 at The Country Club of Landfall. Other celebrities attending include Major League Baseball Hall of Fame member, Joe Morgan, and former Pittsburgh Pirates John Candeleria and Kent Tekulve.
