Louis Bacon has remained quiet in his efforts, which according to the article, go well beyond his purchase of Orton Plantation in 2010. One of the world's leading conservationists, the billionaire is a descendant of the original owners of the site.
Orton
plantation will be under extensive restoration until 2014 when access would
resume on a limited basis through prearranged visits with educational and
historic groups.
