WILMIGNTON, NC (WECT) – NBC's Revolution will premiere right here on WECT in less than a month.
However, we're already getting an idea of what you can expect to see from the actors staring on the show.
"It is about hope and that sprinkled with lots of action," said Billy Burke, who will play Miles Matheson, a reluctant freedom fighter. "He's this ex-military guy who has all these skills but he doesn't want to use them anymore. He's tired of that. But his niece comes and finds him and brings him back for the cause."
The show picks up 15 years after a mysterious blackout, which makes everything stop working - from electricity to cars to cell phones.
In the show, Miles's niece, Charlie, travels to Chicago to reunite with him after tragedy strikes the family. Aaron, who is played by Zak Orth, makes the trip with her.
"He formed a pretty close bond with this guy, Ben, who dies suddenly and violently and leaves him with this mysterious pendant," Orth said. "He starts to get this idea that he can use it to turn the lights back on – so that makes him try to go on this adventure to try to change the world."
Anna Lise Phillips is also along for the adventure. She plays Maggie.
"She is a doctor, so she has an innate strength that she is not afraid of mortality," she said. "But it doesn't mean she knows how to deal with murders and bears and people with guns."
From watching the trailer, you can tell the show will be action packed.
"You have some amazing sword-fighting skills, right?" Ashlea Kosikowski asked Burke.
"Yes…that are fake because I'm an actor," Burke responded. Put me in the real world with a sword, I don't know what's going to happen."
Burke may joke about his sword-fighting prowess, but his fight scenes appear to be fast-paced and very realistic.
Burke described Revolution as "epic." It's a word that his fellow star, Phillips, also used.
"I think people should tune in and watch the show because it's epic," she said. "There's nothing small happening – it is all big and intense and adventurous."
