TABOR CITY, NC (WECT) – Police believe shootings that happened in Tabor City and Loris, SC are connected.

Nearly ten people are wanted in South Carolina and three are wanted in Tabor City, all believed to be from the Columbus County area.

The investigation stems from shootings that happened August 9.

In Tabor City, officials found David Grubbs sitting in a vehicle parked at Great Grace Church. Police say he had been shot in the face.

According to Cpt. Dean Foley with the Tabor City Police Department, Grubbs' son was assaulted and robbed earlier in the night.

"When he went back to talk with his father, that's how the father got involved," explained Foley.

Grubbs called his son's phone and whoever robbed his son answered. The person told Grubbs to meet them at the church and they would return his son's belongings to him.

Investigators are searching for Dustin Stackhouse, Xavier Hemingway who goes by "Ray Ray" and David Hemingway who goes by "Frog" to question them about the crimes.

"They will be arrested on the South Carolina warrants, since South Carolina has entered them as wanted," said Foley. "If we find them over here, we are going to arrest them based on those warrants."

In Loris, detectives say a man was beaten around the same time Grubbs was shot and had his car stolen. Later in the day, a home in Loris was shot up and the stolen vehicle was spotted at the scene of that shooting.

According to Loris Police Chief Joseph Vaught, one person was shot in the arm during that incident. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police in Loris believe the same three men investigators in Tabor City are searching for were also involved in the shooting in South Carolina, in addition to seven others.

According to Tabor City Police, Amanda Hardee turned herself into authorities Wednesday for her involvement in both crimes. She is now facing six charges of attempted murder.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Dustin Stackhouse, Xavier Hemingway who goes by "Ray Ray" and David Hemingway who goes by "Frog" are asked to contact the Tabor City Police Department at (910) 653-3149.
