Caraline Waldrep started working at WECT in August of 2010. She was behind the scenes working as a floor director and in the audio booth learning various aspects of the TV news business before she became the stations first full time on air traffic reporter for Carolina in the Morning on WECT. She is excited to serve the Wilmington community and provide you with the up to speed news on what is happening on the roads in our area.
Caraline herself knows a bit about being on the roads. Raised the youngest of two children in an Army family, traveling the roads was part of her life. She was born in Honolulu Hawaii, and then lived in Heidelberg Germany, Augusta Georgia, and Washington D.C. She attended Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina graduating with a degree in Mass Communications.
Taking advantages of being a military "brat" and traveling to so many diverse places; she experienced and acclimated to multiple cultures, from the Islands in the Pacific Ocean to Europe and the Southeast United States. Caraline knew from a young age she wanted a career in Journalism so she can have the opportunity to allow everyone's story to be heard. She loves meeting new people and appreciates the individual stories we all have to share.
