An internal investigation has been launched into BSL Police Chief Emmett Ballree.BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC (WECT) – The city of Boiling Spring Lakes has suspended its police chief.
City manager Jeff Repp told WECT.com that the city received internal allegations of potential abuse of powers regarding Chief Emmett Ballree.
Ballree has been suspended with pay until further notice.
The SBI is currently investigating Ballree as well.
Repp said the two investigations are not related.
WECT.com was the first to tell you about the SBI investigation. According to a spokeswoman for the SBI, the investigation began at the request of a superior court judge and District Attorney Jon David.
Lt. Rick Spencer with the Boiling Spring Lakes Police Department will serve as acting chief, according to Repp.
