WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – If you were near the Cape Fear River Tuesday and looked up, you may have caught a glimpse of filming for Iron Man 3.
It wasn't the first time that the cast was up in the air, but it was the first time they were spotted in costume, giving hints about what folks might see in movie theaters next May.
Screams were audible as dozens of people connected by cables went tumbling towards the Cape Fear River down below.
Then, at the last minute, they stopped, and it looks like the figure on top of the pyramid, the one sporting Iron Man's iconic red helmet, was holding them up.
It's hard to say for sure whether or not Iron Man saves the day during the scene -- during one of the takes, a person attached to the cables actually fells off and went splashing into the water down below.
The crew will be out filming in front of PPD again on Wednesday from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m., according to film permits.
Film permits say the scenes will involve three actors and 60 extras.
