WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A young man was arrested Tuesday for assaulting an officer and for having drugs.
Officers responded to a disturbance call at a home on 11th Street Tuesday, where witnesses say Timothy Tyre Miller, 20, had "flipped out" and started to destroy property. Witnesses told police Miller had left the home and it was discovered he also abandoned his seven-year-old sister at the home.
An officer helped walk the girl to her home about a block away and found Miller, who was irate at the time, inside their home.
Police say Miller left the house and began yelling and swearing at the officer. He then attempted to physically confront the officer who deployed his Electronic Control Device to subdue him.
According to police, Miller was arrested and taken to the hospital for further evaluation. A toxicology report revealed Miller had ingested PCP and marijuana, also known as "Love Boat." He also had crack cocaine in his possession at the time of his arrest.
Miller was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer and possession of schedule II drugs.
