Carey Ricks as the county's first public affairs manager, a position that will
manage the county's government relations and marketing strategies.
Ricks will join the county July 30, transitioning from the
Cape Fear Public Utility Authority where she served as Chief Communications
Officer since 2008.
New Hanover County Manager Chris Coudriet said commitment to
community outreach and brand management strategies are integral parts of the
county's strategic plan.
"I'm confident Carey's fresh perspective, strong background
in public affairs and project management as well as her dedication to public
service will enhance our communication objectives and strategic focus areas,"
said Coudriet.
Working for the county, Ricks will make $98,500 a year as
the new Public Affairs Manager.
