911 calls released from helicopter crash witnesses; identity of man found dead in car released; baseball

It was a scary sight for folks on the beach who witnessed a helicopter crash near the Oak Island Pier yesterday. Today, 911 calls and an incident report have been released.

Oak Island's Water Rescue Assistant Chief was charged for driving while impaired. According to an arrest report, he is also a member of the same water rescue that responded to yesterday's helicopter crash.

Police have released the name of a man they found dead in a car last night, and have announced that they are investigating the death as a homicide.

During an upcoming meeting, Wilmington City Council will discuss transferring $355,000 from the general fund to the capital project fund in order to continue considering minor league baseball.
