Michelle's Markdowns: Freebies and cheapies at Target, CVS and Harris Teeter

WILMINGTON, NC (WSFX) – This week we snagged deals at Target, CVS and Harris Teeter.  We ended up getting some great deals on body wash, razors and even a glucose monitor.

We saved more than half off at Target this week.  Thanks to The Krazy Coupon Lady for deal ideas.  The total before coupons was $22.65, but we ended up spending $10.15 before tax:

  • Glade Decore Scents Holder, reg. 2.99.  We had a coupon for $2 off.  We also used a Target coupon for $1 off.  [2.99-.2.00-.50= .49-cents]  **coupons.com and Target**
  • 2 Lunchables, reg. $1 each.  We had a Target coupon for $1. Off.  **Target**
  • Aquafresh kid toothpaste, reg. 1.89.  We had $1 off coupon and a $1 off Target coupon = FREE!
  • Dr. Scholl's inserts, reg. 6.99.  We had a coupon for $3 off and a Target coupon for $2 off.  [6.99-3.00-2.00=1.99]  **coupon from web and Target**
  • 2 Advil PM, reg. 4.39 EACH.  We had two coupons for $1 off.  There was a deal for buy 2 get a $5 gift card.  Final price = .89-cent each.

At CVS, we ended up getting $64.40 worth of items for $9.96 before tax.  CVS deals area a little more complicated because you have to make multiple transactions to maximize the deals, but once you wrap your head around it, it's pretty easy.  Thanks to The Krazy Coupon Lady for deal ideas:


CVS has a deal on Nivea.  If you buy $10 in Nivea, you get $5 back in Extra Care Bucks.

We bought Nivea aftershave (reg. 7.79, on sale 6.88) and we bought Nivea body wash (reg. 6.39, sale 4.88).  There was also a $2 coupon on the after shave a $1 off coupon on the body wash. [6.88 + 4.88 = 11.76 – 2.00 -1.00 = 8.76] Then we get $5 in ECBS.  {so you're really out of pocket $3.76 in the end} **coupons from Red Plum insert, 6/10**


We bought a Hydro Schick Razor for 8.99 (it's normally 13.29.)  We also had a $4 coupon.  Then, we used our $5 ECB from the 1st transaction.  [8.99-4.00-4.99 = FREE] (We spent $.28-cents in tax) We also got $3 back in ECBs.  **coupon from Smart Source 6/10**


  • Soft Soap hand wash is B1G1 at 3.99 each.  We also had two coupons for $1 off.  [3.99-1.00 – 1.00=1.99 for two (.98-cents each)] **web coupon**
  • Bayer is also BOG50% (buy one, get one half off) at 2.99 each.  We also had a coupon for $2.50 off 2.  [2.99 + 1.49 = 4.48 – 2.50 = 1.98 for 2 (.99-cents each)] **coupon from Red Plum 4/29**
  • Kotex pantiliners are B1G50% at 1.49 each.  We also had two coupons for $1 off [1.49 + .74 – 1.00 – 1.00 = .23-cents for 2.  (.12-cents)] **coupon from Smart Source, 5/20**
  • One Touch Mini, reg. 19.99.  CVS sale for $10 off.  We had a $10 coupon = FREE! **Red Plum 4/29 **
  • We also used our $3 discount from our previous transaction (ECBS)

We also got a few grocery deals at Harris Teeter.  This week hasn't been spectacular, but that's because we keep hearing that the store is going to do Super Doubles next week.  Woo!

We spent $6.30 for about $20.03 worth of goods.  That's a 70-percent savings!

  • 4C variety pack drink mixes, reg. 4.69.  On sale 3.00.  We had a coupon for $3 off 2.  [6.00-3.00=3.00/2=1.50 each]  **Smart Source 6/3**
  • Blue Diamond almond packs, reg. 4.75.  On sale B1G1 – 2.38.  We had a coupon for .75-cents off two.  It doubles.  [4.75-.75-.75=3.25/2=1.63 each] **Smart Source 5/13**
  • Texas Pete hot sauce, reg. 1.15.  On sale .85.  We had a coupon for .40-cents off.  It doubles.  [.85-.40-.40=.05] **Smart Source 5/6**
