It's a cute and campy musical based around Elle Woods' attempt to win back the boyfriend she believes she can't live without. Instead, she finds out she's stronger, smarter and savvier than she thinks.
Erin Sullivan plays the iconic sorority girl turned Harvard lawyer, in a triumphant return to the Port City.
"I've been living out of a suitcase for quite some time," said Sullivan.
Fresh off national tours of Hairspray, The Wedding Singer, Grease and Shrek, Erin is back at home.
"I just have always been so impressed and so blessed and so proud of this entire artistic community. It's been such an incredible homecoming. It's been so exciting. I've been chasing after Legally Blonde for four years now, since I did the MTV [show], when they were searching for the next Elle Woods on Broadway, and I placed top 24th in the nation out of 10,000 girls. That's a lot of blondes."
She may not have come out on top then, but she's riding high now and wowing audiences with her pretty-in-pink portrayal of Elle Woods. He co-stars make up a host of other memorable characters, supporting her throughout the show.
There's ex-boyfriend Warner, arch-nemesis Vivienne, ruthless Professor Callahan, lovable and loyal Emmett, plus a dozen perky and encouraging sorority sisters. And who can forget Elle's best friend Bruiser, played by Erin's own chihuahua Bitsy Bojangles.
They all help Elle discover her true self.
"She's empowering, and it's all about just don't judge a book by its cover, so really just everyone can relate to Elle Woods."
