The SBI launched an investigation into a member of the BSL Police Department.BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC (WECT) – The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation has launched an investigation into Boiling Spring Lakes Police Chief Emmett Ballree.
According to a spokeswoman for the SBI, the investigation began at the request of a superior court judge and District Attorney Jon David.
Boiling Spring Lakes City Manager Jeff Repp told WECT.com that all members of the police force are currently serving the city and that no decision will be made until the investigation is complete.
He did not comment any further on the investigation.
The SBI did not comment on the nature of the investigation.
District Attorney Jon David said he received a complaint regarding Ballree. He asked the SBI to step in to see if a criminal investigation should be launched. David hasn't heard back from the SBI on whether or not criminal activity went on, but said he takes every complaint seriously.
