WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – City council members met Wednesday morning to discuss items that were brought up during a public input session Tuesday night.
During their budget work session, council members talked about reviewing service fees and agency funding. They also talked about holding off on paying for a baseball stadium.
At this time, next year's budget does not include any money for a public-private partnership. If a deal does move forward, council members said they will have to make room in another budget in later years.
Mayor Bill Saffo maintains this is not a done deal and there are still several unknowns in the project. Until they're resolved, the mayor said it would be short-sighted to set aside money for a baseball stadium.
