The first official set photo from 'Iron Man 3' (Source: Marvel)WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Marvel Comics has released the first official photo from set production of Iron Man 3, which is currently being filmed in Wilmington.
The third installment of the successful Iron Man series began filming within the past few weeks. WECT.com recently spotted Robert Downey, Jr. heading to film in the downtown area.
Filming for a scene in the movie began shooting in Cary, NC Monday at Epic Games Studios, according to WNCN.
More filming is expected to take place around the SAS campus over the next few days; however, a spokesperson for SAS said that he could not verify whether or not the movie would be filmed there.
Marvel Studios recently released The Avengers, which stars Downey, Jr.'s Iron Man character, Tony Stark.
