Drunk felon asleep next to gun; amendment protest; baseball

Law enforcement officials have been pretty busy lately! Wilmington Police Officers charged a man lying unconscious in the street early this morning who was found with a loaded gun next to him. Also, more than 100 grams of cocaine and almost 40 bags of heroin were found earlier this week in an area hotel room. Speaking of law enforcement, a special ceremony was held today to honor the lives of those killed in the line of duty.

Dozens of people are expected to gather in Wilmington tonight to protest the passing of the constitutional amendment defining marriage as a union between one man and one woman. Gov. Bev Perdue said today that passing the amendment makes NC "look like Mississippi."

Some residents and business owners in Wilmington who feel taxpayers should not pay for the proposed baseball stadium are joining forces. We'll also have the latest developments about the future of baseball in the Port City tonight.
