COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Three teens were arrested on Thursday and are facing murder charges in Columbus County.
Forty-six-year-old Keith Douglas Gachette, of Hallsboro, was shot in the head on April 13, according to Columbus County Sheriff Christopher Batten. The crime took place in Gachette's home off Palmetto Bay Road near Hallsboro around 6:15 p.m.
Batten said that Tarrence Shakil Hazel, 18, of Hallsboro, Marquice Alexander Antone, 16, of Clarkton, and Kenneth Da'Shawn Williams, 16, of Hallsboro, were each arrested on grand jury indictments and charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
All three were taken into custody without incident. First appearances were held Thursday afternoon in Columbus County District Court. Bond was reportedly set at $100,000 on the robbery charges and no bond was given for the murder charges.
