Fired police officers appeal; Beastie Boys rapper dead; freediving

Fired, but not finished -- three former police officers from the town of Leland appealed their termination today.

Following a three-year battle with cancer, Beastie Boys rapper and co-founder Adam Yauch died today.

A 21-year-old passenger was thrown from a vehicle and died after police say the driver he was with was traveling at high speeds.

Talk about a lot of strength! A woman from Wilmington set the world record for "no fins" freediving in the Deja Blue Diving Championship.

Could head injuries be to blame? NFL star Junior Seau died Wednesday after shooting himself in the chest. Now, his family plans to donate his brain for research into repetitive head injuries.
