Fishermen and beachgoers were protesting this weekend at Fort Fisher.
They're upset over the restricted access to the South end of the beach. The state shut down the park at night, angering fishermen who say they've lost many of the best hours for fishing.
The protestors were trying to gain support from others who use the South end for fishing and fun. They fear the limited hours will also have an economic impact on the island.
The state limited access to the park to protect endangered species, and to keep the beach cleaner and safer.
