Falling tree kills woman, amendment that defines marriage, 'Iron Man 3'

A woman was killed earlier this week by a falling tree while she and her son were doing yard work.

The parents of Jasmine Thar, who was killed at the end of last year, are meeting with the district attorney and holding a press conference today. They want an investigation into their daughter's death, along with the man who shot her.

Pretty soon, you'll be able to vote on the Constitutional amendment defining marriage in North Carolina. Opponents of the amendment say it would do more harm than good, while supporters say that opponents are exaggerating the effects if it passes. So, what's the truth behind who it would really affect and how? WECT's Ashlea Kosikowski will be live in the studio with all the details tonight.

If you're a big comic book or Robert Downey, Jr. fan, get excited! Filming in the Port City for the upcoming flick Iron Man 3 is set to begin next week, but the cast of characters is still changing.

Be sure to tune in tonight starting at 5:00! We'll have more on the death of a woman in Sunset Beach; the latest on a special Pender County Board of Education meeting about the school calendar; the battle between a superior court judge and a local attorney and much more.
