Money in a Minute: One-stop-shopping for best produce deals

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) –  If you've ever looked at the produce sales at any given supermarket, you'll often find there's hardly enough there to even make a salad.  However, there's one way to get around shopping at several stores for the best produce deals.

Finding the best deal on produce will likely keep you local.  Farmers markets and local grocery stores are probably the best places to find a good deal on produce.  But that being said, let's go to the polar opposite of a farmers market.  Let's go to Walmart.

The big box store could be a good choice because it promises to price match most of its competitors, typically from a 50-mile radius.  If you're a busy person and like to do one-stop shopping, then bring in the ads from other grocery stores.  That way you can get all of your shopping done in one trip instead of buying your grapes here and your tomatoes there.  Trying to hunt down all the produce deals can be annoying.  However, there are people out there who want to support the local economy, and Walmart may not be a good choice for them.
