COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Officials in Columbus County will soon take a closer look at employee salaries.
A pay study is complete and now, those officials are waiting on the results.
Many county department heads have said they're constantly losing employees to other neighboring counties because Columbus doesn't pay as well.
As a result, last year, commissioners had a group out of Cary conduct a study to see where Columbus County stands compared to other counties, and whether or not they need to rework job descriptions.
County manager Bill Clark says the county clerk is in the process of scheduling a meeting, so the results of the study can be revealed.
