CFPUA board considers projects, rates

The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority board met today. They discussed new rates, along with an increase that was already approved earlier in the year.

More than seven years ago, Scott Gardner a father from Brunswick County, was hit and killed by a drunk driver who was an illegal alien. As a result, a state representative has recently reintroduced a bill that would immediately deport illegal immigrants who are busted for drunk driving. But some say that bill has too many problems. Tonight, WECT will have the latest details on both sides of the proposal.

If you're planning on heading to Carolina Beach anytime soon, you'll need to bring some extra change. Just last night, Carolina Beach Town Council voted to raise parking rates.

Law enforcement officers have been pretty busy recently! Two men were arrested in Pender County following a car chase; a man who had been wanted by authorities in Brunswick County was arrested on assault charges; and a woman in Bladen County was arrested for selling drugs near a school.
