Jimmy Fletcher has been re-instated as the head football coach at West Brunswick high school.
The move came during Tuesday's Brunswick County School's board meeting and comes after Fletcher filed a grievance with the county after his removal on November 29th.
The Board released a statement Tuesday night saying only "Jimmy Fletcher, school counselor at West Brunswick High School, has been reinstated as the school's head football coach effective immediately. Personnel law prohibits any further discussion regarding Fletcher's reinstatement."
West Brunswick athletics director John Floyd said he didn't know anything about the move and couldn't elaborate on it.
Jessica Swencki, spokeswoman for Brunswick County Schools, could not elaborate on the outcome of any vote during the Board meeting citing personnel law. Swencki did say that Fletcher's reinstatement was the only personnel move made during Tuesday's meeting.
West Brunswick's decision to remove Fletcher came following the Trojans' 4-7 finish to last season and his career mark at West Brunswick is 43-63 overall over nine seasons.
Fletcher is also the head coach for the East in the North Carolina East-West All-Star Football Game which will be played in July.
