PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A juvenile has been taken into custody after an incident at Topsail High School last week.
The juvenile is charged with cyber bullying and identity theft, according to the Pender County Sheriff's Office.
Several deputies were called to the school last Thursday around lunch time after school officials heard a rumor that there would be a disturbance.
The sheriff's office said there was a Facebook page made saying something was going to happen during lunch Thursday that would "make the news." The site has since been taken down.
Multiple deputies with the Pender County Sheriff's Office were at the school to investigate. Nothing happened. According to the sheriff's office, there was no apparent threat.
The school's "power hour" was cancelled the day after and the next week because of that incident.
