WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The Wilmington Police Department found the body of an older man Wednesday afternoon in a ditch near South Kerr Ave.

Police identified the body as Melvin Jerome Bennett, a 60-year-old blind man from Wilmington.

Bennett was reported missing two weeks ago after being last seen on Feb. 15 at the K&D Mini Mart on S. Kerr Ave. around 10:30 p.m.
