GREENVILLE, SC (CNN) – A Best Buy store in South Carolina
is apologizing after porn suddenly appeared on a TV at the company's Greenville
location.
A customer said she was there with her son and grandchildren
when the offensive image popped up on a 55-inch smart TV. According to the woman, the store manager
said someone hijacked the store's WiFi to upload the image and the same thing
had happened the night before.
Best Buy's corporate office released the following
statement:
"Two
individuals accessed our store's wireless signal to broadcast inappropriate
content on a smart television display. In both cases, we worked immediately to
disable the inappropriate content. We greatly apologize for this unfortunate
incident and we are working to ensure that it does not happen again."
The
customer filed a complaint with the Greenville Police Department, who said they
will investigate.
