State Representative Carolyn Justice will complete her fifth House of Representatives term representing parts of Pender and New Hanover counties.NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Republican Carolyn Justice has decided not to run for re-election in the N.C. House District 16 and will sit out of the 2012 election.
At the end of this year, she will complete her fifth House of Representatives term representing parts of Pender and New Hanover counties. She said she believes "that leaving after 10 years is an appropriate length of time to fulfill my belief in term limits."
She went on to say in a statement, "I fully recognize that this seat was never mine to own but only to borrow from you, its rightful owners."
Instead of running for the N.C. Senate, Justice said that she will sit out of the 2012 election and dedicate her time to the campaigns of Dale Folwell, who is running for Lt. Governor, and Chris Mills, who is running to fill the seat Justice is vacating.
"Both of these men have a servant's heart, and they have the intelligence and ability to serve our state well," she stated in a news release.
Justice also thanked her family, constituents, supporters and campaign committee for "allowing me the opportunity to serve you and our great state in this position."
