WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Dr. David Hill of Cape Fear Pediatrics is reporting cases of the flu in both the Wilmington and Hampstead offices.
If you are having a hard time telling the difference here are the symptoms for the flu:
A fever that lasts 3-4 days, prominent headache and severe aches and pains all over the body.
Compare those to the symptoms of a cold:
Stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat, cough and sinus congestion.
Doctor Hill wants to also remind everyone it is not too late to get a flu shot.
A second report comes from Dr. Marc Yandle of Wilmington Health-Pediatrics, at Brunswick Forest.
They are seeing a consistent amount of strep as well as a GI virus and flu-like virus. RSV, a respiratory illness, continues to be a persistent issue with infants and younger children. Athough there appears to be a virus that looks like the flu, doctors are not seeing many positive tests for the flu at this point.
