CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Deputies arrested a prisoner after he escaped from
his room at Cape Fear Valley
Medical Center
Saturday night, according to a release from the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office .
Patrick Earl Gaston of 6001
Murphy Road, Stedman was a patient at the hospital
since his arrest last week on charges of first degree burglary. Deputies took Gaston to the hospital after his arrest, because he claimed to have swallowed cocaine and began vomiting.
Gaston
escaped a Detention Officer who was guarding his room Saturday night at 6:00 PM.
Deputies
found him late Saturday night in an abandoned mobile home in Harnett County,
hiding in a closet.
Gaston
has been returned to Cape
Fear Valley
Medical Center
and will remain under strict supervision, according to a release from the Sheriff's Office..
