WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Wilmington Police arrested three men Sunday night for stealing someone's wallet, including cash and credit cards, according to Lieutenant Fanta with the department.
Officers responded to a 911 from the parking lot behind Rite Aid pharmacy at the intersection of Shipyard and Carolina Beach roads. Lt. Fanta said officers were already in the area, so they responded almost immediately.
Men matching the suspects' description were stopped, but one man took off on foot. Officers eventually subdued him with a taser, according to Lt. Fanta.
25-year-old Shawn Scott Fonville, whom officers chased and tased, faces charges of common law robbery and hindering and delaying arrest. 21-year-old Darryl Joseph Waddell was also charged with common law robbery. The third suspect was identified but released.
