WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Downtown's Brooklyn Arts Center held a day of shopping and fun for those who have an appreciation for art Saturday at its first "Art for All" event.

Over 35 artists sold and showed off their work, selling paintings, jewelry, ceramics and other art forms.

"People can take their time to get to know the artists and really find something they love and take it home for a really reasonable price," said Brooklyn Art Center's executive director, Richard Leder.

Leder says the day's event was a big success, and the center plans to hold the same type of shows several times throughout the year.

"Wilmington has an outstanding community of artists that live here," he said. "It's really remarkable for the size of our community and this is an opportunity for the public to support the artists."

Price on items ranged from $25 to $250.

The event ran until 10 p.m. Saturday.
