Bicyclist collides with pickup truck, charged with DWI

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A pickup truck hit a bicyclist on Mt. Misery Road in Leland around 6:45 Wednesday night.

According to authorities, the bike rider had been drinking and was given a DWI citation. The bicyclist suffered a broken leg, but is expected to be okay.

The truck driver is only facing charges for not having a proper operator's license. Officials said he will not face charges related to the accident since he did not cause the crash.
