NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – The driver of a moped involved in an accident last week on Castle Hayne Road has died of his injuries.
The NC Highway Patrol says Grant Sanders of Wilmington died last Wednesday night after a car hit his moped. It happened after 7pm on Wednesday evening.
Witnesses tell state troopers that Sanders was riding on a moped with no lights on at the time of the accident. A car traveling southbound on Castle Hayne Road made a left hand turn and struck Sander's moped.
The Highway Patrol says the driver of the vehicle will not face any charges since Sanders did not have a light on his moped. No other injuries were reported.
