WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The countdown is on to the Super Bowl, and area bars and restaurants are gearing up for Sunday's big game.
Since restaurant Kickback Jack's on South College Road opened a few weeks ago, the staff members have been pretty busy and are anticipating Sunday to be the same.
"We've had a lot of interest, a lot of calls, and I think we're going to be packed in here," said manager Kevin Giever.
Giever says some restaurants he's worked at in the past get big crowds for the big day, and some don't.
"A lot of the time, it's softer because of the house parties," he said. "Since I've been in the sports restaurants, it's a pretty popular day."
For those who prefer to avoid the crowds and hang out at home, Giever says they also sell their wings to go.
Giever says in general, if visitors decide to go to a restaurant like his that doesn't take reservations, it's best to show up early. .
The Super Bowl kicks off Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
