Former state senator Julia Boseman involved in custody battle over son

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Former state senator Julia Boseman is once again involved in a child custody battle.

Boseman is suing her ex-partner, Chrystal Medlin, for joint custody of their young son, whom Medlin gave birth to two years ago.

Back in 2005, Boseman became involved in a different custody battle over a son she was raising with another woman, Melissa Jarrell, who is the biological mother. That case went on to the state Supreme Court, and Boseman ended up adopting the child.

Additionally, WECT.com learned Wednesday that Boseman is no longer representing Alicia Lachance, due to a conflict of interest.

Lachance is the former head of the Carolina Beach Lifeguard Department, accused of having an affair with former Carolina Beach Police Chief William Younginer.

After Lachance claimed Younginer's wife attacked her last November, she hired Boseman to represent her.
