WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Wilmington police have arrested the man they say robbed the TD Bank on South College Road Friday afternoon.

Brenden Paul Kolterjahn, 26, was taken into custody early Saturday morning at the Travelodge at 4118 Market Street.  WPD got information that Kolterjahn was staying there.  They made contact with him and they say he surrendered without incident around 2am Saturday.

Kolterjahn was taken to WPD headquarters for an interview before being booked into the New Hanover County Detention Facility.

According to Lucy Crockett with the WPD, Kolterjahn, described as a "scruffy" man in his 20s, handed bank tellers a threatening note around 1:30 p.m. Friday saying he had a gun, but never showed a weapon.

Police say the robber was seen driving a red or burgundy Toyota Corolla.
