WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The chancellor of UNCW said Thursday the university is working to meet a gap in tuition after a new proposal from President Tom Ross, which could mean some relief for students.
Ross proposed tuition increases for each individual UNC campus – an 8 percent increase for UNCW. That's two percent lower than Chancellor Gary Miller proposed.
If the president's suggestion of eight percent is approved, that would leave the UNCW campus with a two percent gap to fill, which is about all they can do until the UNC Board of Governors makes a ruling in February, according to Miller.
The board will consider the proposal at its meeting February 10.
