WILMINGTON, NC (WSFX) – We're going to give you a breakdown of the things we got for free on a recent shopping trip to Harris Teeter.
Please remember to be kind and ethical when you're collecting and using coupons. We certainly don't want to overwhelm any store or person, and we want everyone to follow the law and be safe. We just want to help people save as much money as possible.
Here's what we bought:
-3 Colgate toothpastes ($2.99 each but they're also on sale for buy one get one free)
-3 Colgate toothbrushes ($2.99 each but they're also on sale for buy one get one free)
-3 packets of Starkist Tuna ($10 for 10 packets)
Here's what we paid:
$.35 total (just for tax)
How in the world did it happen?
Harris Teeter's B1G1 free offer usually means you can just buy one item for half price.
So, think of it this way:
1 toothpaste cost us basically $1.50
We had a coupon from the Sunday paper for $.75
Harris Teeter doubles coupons up to .99, which means we got another .75 off.
$1.50 - .75-.75 = $0
The same goes for the tuna.
It is on sale 10 for $10, but you don't have to buy 10.
We had a coupon for $.50 off. It doubles…
$1.00 - .50 -.50 = free
Why did we only get three of each item?
Harris Teeter's policy only allows you to use 3 coupons for the same item in one transaction.
Happy shopping! This deal lasts through Tuesday at Harris Teeter. Remember, please be kind and ethical. We just like helping save you money!
