CHAT at 10: Woman gives $10,000 to help less fortunate this holiday

WILMINGTON, NC (WSFX) – We're talking about the big news of the day and the big talkers.  Tonight, we're featuring a woman who donated $10,000 to the United Way and Salvation Army to help restore water to people this holiday.

The United Way says there are 500 families in New Hanover County who don't have running water in their homes.  What do you think of that number?  Did it surprise you?  It was upsetting to one woman who pulled together her money to help.  Have you ever made a big donation?  Or a spontaneous donation?
