WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Chief Medical Examiner's Office has released a toxicology report Wednesday into the investigation of an unsolved murder case in Wilmington.
Carol Ann Johnson, 59, was found dead in her home on Pine Valley Drive on July 4. She died from multiple stab wounds, according to her death certificate.
No arrests have been made and police have not released much information in their investigation, in which the SBI and FBI are also involved.
The report shows there was nothing unusual in Johnson's body at the time of her death. The file specifically points out there was no ethanol detected in her system, which WECT is told means there was no alcohol present.
The murder took place in an otherwise quiet neighborhood in Wilmington.
Police Chief Ralph Evangelous has said they don't believe neighbors are in danger and they will apprehend a suspect.
